Volume: 75cl

Alcohol: 19.5% Vol.

Grape varieties: Malvasia Fina, Viosinho and Gouveio

Tasting notes: Golden in colour, Porto Lagrima has an intense fruitiness of orange peel, with a strong honey component and nuts such as walnuts. Given the amount of residual sugar, this wine tends to become oxidised, but it should retain enough fruitiness and freshness to balance the alcohol and sugar. On the palate, it is deliciously sweet without being heavy. It is fresh and has great complexity of structure and flavours.

Suggestions: Ideally accompanies pastries made with fresh or cooked fruit.

Can be included in a vegetarian diet.

Quinta do Portal

The Quinta do Portal estates are located in the Cima-Corgo sub-region of the Douro region, which has proven to be particularly resilient to climate change. Comprised of five estates - Quinta do Portal, Quinta do Confradeiro, Quinta dos Muros, Quinta da Abelheira and Quinta da Manuela - the estate covers approximately 100 hectares. Thanks to its varied altitudes, different exposures and diversity of grape varieties, this area produces excellent quality grapes, which are the raw material for the production of the estate's various wines.

In the 1990s, Quinta do Portal passionately embraced the concept of a “Boutique Winery” specializing in the production of Douro wines, exceptional ports, muscats and olive oil. Initiated with Quinta dos Muros, a century-old estate of the Mansilha family, and built on the tradition of Port wine production for four generations, this project adopted a forward-looking perspective. Quinta do Portal immediately sought to create world-class Douro wines, becoming one of the first of the new generation of Douro producers to believe in the potential of the region’s still wines.

Quality has always been the motto of Quinta do Portal, as evidenced by the countless national and international distinctions awarded to their wines and olive oils.
